Friendship HUB
The Friendship Hub is a Day Service for adults who are lonely, isolated or have a disability. The service provides older people with both practical assistance and a chance to socialise. It offers a comfortable environment where individuals can make friends, enjoy a selection of activities and learn new skills.
The activities which you can enjoy include:
- Arts,
- Crafts,
- Games,
- Gardening,
- Music and singing
- Gentle exercise
- Quizzes
- Community activities and so much more.
The aim of the service is to:
- Build Confidence,
- Development new skills,
- Meet new friends,
- Provides a home cooked meal,
- Builds lasting friendship,
- Avoids isolation,
- Supportive and bring people together
- Promotes mental well-being through shared experiences.
Homemade Lunches
Clients will also be served a hot lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
How can you join our centre?
You can be registered to us by a relative, GP, social worker, carer, friend or self refer via telephone or through our web referral below.
Those who are interested in attending the centre can arrange a taster day, first day is free (not including transport or meal).
The staff will be able to offer some assistance such as helping with transferring from chair to chair, but mostly cater to those requiring a lower level of care.
They are unable to support complex needs or assist with medication or personal care.

What does a typical day look like?
Every day at the Friendship Hub, we arrange for you:
- A wheelchair-accessible minibus will come and pick you up from your house to take you to our day centre (if transport is required)
- Settle into the centre over a cup of tea and a chat
- Morning activities of your choice will be available for you to begin
- A freshly prepared hot lunch and pudding will be served by our staff
- More activities of your choice will be organised for after lunch
- When the day is over, the minibus will drop you back at your house at an agreed time.
